Mercer Island is a mostly residential area with 22,000 residents, featuring multiple parks and beaches, many walking and cycling paths, tree-lined neighborhoods, and beautiful views. - The Northwest Yeshiva High School - the only Orthodox Jewish high school in the Pacific Northwest, and the location where the shul rents space
- The Jewish Community Center - offering numerous programs and a fitness center

- Albertsons - the supermarket that features the widest selection of fresh and packaged kosher food in the Pacific Northwest, including a kosher deli, butcher and many other kosher products
Bus service and carpools are available from Mercer Island to the three Jewish day schools in the Seattle area: Seattle Hebrew Academy, the Menachem Mendel Seattle Cheder, and the Torah Day School of Seattle.
